How do you get to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland from the Chilterns?
By car it is a straight run into town along the A40, around 55–75 minutes from Gerrards Cross to central London in normal traffic. Winter Wonderland runs daily from 19 November 2026 to 3 January 2027 apart from Christmas Day, and advises booking online in advance because popular sessions sell out. There are four entrances: the Red Gate on the east side for Bond Street and Marble Arch, the Blue Gate to the south for Hyde Park Corner, the Green Gate to the west for Knightsbridge, and the Gold Gate to the north for Marble Arch and Paddington.

Yes, if you make a full day of it. Bath Christmas Market runs from Thursday 26 November to Sunday 13 December 2026 in the streets around Bath Abbey, open 10am to 7pm Monday to Wednesday, 10am to 8pm Thursday to Saturday and 10am to 6pm on Sunday. It is a journey west along the M4, so an early start makes the most of the opening hours.
Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market runs from 20 November to 22 December 2026 in the grounds of the cathedral, reached via the M25 and M3. It lasts longer than Bath's, which gives more flexibility for a midweek visit. What is on at Blenheim Palace this Christmas?
An illuminated light trail through the grounds and a Cinderella-themed display inside the Palace. Christmas at Blenheim runs from Friday 13 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027 and is ticketed separately from standard admission and annual passes, so book before you go. Blenheim is at Woodstock, just north-west of Oxford, and the trail is at its best after dark, which makes it a natural evening trip. Is Waddesdon Manor holding Christmas in 2026?
Not in its usual form. Waddesdon says Christmas at Waddesdon will pause in 2026 while conservation projects take place across the estate, returning in 2027 for its 150th anniversary celebrations. In its place is a three-day Artists & Makers Fair at The Dairy from 4 to 6 December 2026, a smaller event that suits a short afternoon trip from South Bucks.
