At Gerrards Cross the off-peak semi-fast trains to Marylebone typically call at Wembley Stadium, and Chiltern says the station is a five-minute walk from the stadium. From Amersham or Little Chalfont the Metropolitan line to Wembley Park, only two stops from Baker Street, is usually the more natural route.
What happens at Wembley Stadium station after an event?
On big event days Chiltern publishes an enhanced timetable with extra Wembley stops and additional trains, and after evening matches it operates a colour-coded queuing system at the station. The yellow queue is for Denham and stations towards Aylesbury via High Wycombe, which covers Gerrards Cross, Seer Green and Beaconsfield. The queue moves, but after a sell-out concert or a cup final you may stand in it for some time before you reach a platform, and that is the moment a pre-booked car starts to look attractive.
How late do trains run back to Gerrards Cross?
Later than many people assume, but not all night. Checking a typical weeknight in the September 2026 timetable, the last train from Wembley Stadium towards Gerrards Cross left at 00:19 and arrived at 00:41.
