Where should you go for date night near Gerrards Cross?
Choose the town first, then the table. Beaconsfield Old Town, built around its four "Ends" (London End, Windsor End, Aylesbury End and Wycombe End), has several serious restaurants within a short walk of its central crossroads. The Greyhound, Windsor End, Beaconsfield
The Greyhound is a restaurant in a Grade II listed building in the Old Town, serving modern British food with a wide wine list and local beers. Its website lists an AA Restaurant of the Year (England) award, and it has a terrace for eating outside in warmer months. It caters for vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diners, which removes one common worry when booking for someone new.
Riwaz by Atul Kochhar, Aylesbury End, Beaconsfield
Riwaz is the Beaconsfield restaurant of Atul Kochhar, described on its site as a twice Michelin-starred chef, cooking modern Indian food rooted in the traditions of India. Its set dinner is served from 6pm to 9.30pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, and at 5.30pm only on Friday and Saturday, for up to six people per booking (correct as of September 2026). That fixed Friday and Saturday sitting is exactly why a pre-booked car helps: you arrive on time without circling for parking in the Old Town.
Brasserie Blanc, London End, Beaconsfield
Brasserie Blanc brings Raymond Blanc's French brasserie menu to the Old Town, with a terrace and a vaulted dining room. It opens from 8:30am on weekdays and 9:30am at weekends until 11pm, with food served until 9:45pm most days and 8:45pm on Sundays (correct as of September 2026). It is a relaxed choice when you want classic French cooking without the formality of a tasting menu.
Also on London End: The Royal Saracens Head and Giggling Squid
For something less formal, The Royal Saracens Head is a pub and restaurant with its own garden and many original features, open until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays. Giggling Squid, the Thai restaurant group, also has a Beaconsfield branch on London End. Both were listed as operating in September 2026.
Lomito and the Everyman, Gerrards Cross
In Gerrards Cross, Lomito on Packhorse Road is an Argentine steak restaurant with a sister branch in Northwood. Pair it with Everyman Gerrards Cross on Ethorpe Crescent, which dates back to 1925 and calls itself the oldest cinema in Buckinghamshire. It has three screens with sofa-style seating and a bar, and food and drinks can be brought to your seat, so a film can be the whole evening rather than a prelude to dinner.
Why book a car rather than drive on date night?
Because it is the only arrangement where both of you get the same evening. A designated driver on date night is half a guest: one glass, an eye on the time, and the drive home down the A40 or the B474 still ahead. England's drink-drive limit cannot be converted into a reliable number of glasses, as GOV.UK explains, so "just one" is still a guess.
There are practical wins too. A car at the door removes the hunt for a space before a fixed sitting and the walk back to a parked car in heels or in the rain. - Set a provisional collection time. Two and a half hours covers three courses without rushing. If you decide on a nightcap, message us and we move it.
- Give one clear pickup point. Outside the restaurant door is easiest, and it means nobody is standing on the pavement trying to spot which car is yours.
For dinner and a film in Gerrards Cross, book the car to the restaurant and the collection from the Everyman after the credits. Film running times are on the cinema's listings, so you can set the pickup accurately before you leave home.
Can you turn date night into a night away?
Yes, without leaving the area. The Ethorpe on Packhorse Road in Gerrards Cross has 32 hotel rooms, The Ivy House on London Road in Chalfont St Giles has guest rooms in a 250-year-old inn, and The Falcon Inn in Denham village offers bed and breakfast. Book dinner in Beaconsfield, a car to your room afterwards and a late-morning pickup home the next day, and the whole break is covered with nobody driving. Luggage for one night fits easily in the boot of an E-Class.
What about a night in London instead?
If the plan is a West End show or a restaurant in town, the train from Gerrards Cross or Beaconsfield into Marylebone is quick, but the last train home and the walk from the station at midnight are the weak points.
