Pinewood Studios is on Pinewood Road, Iver Heath (SL0 0NH), about five miles and 10–15 minutes by car from Gerrards Cross. For the people who work there, the question is rarely where the studios are. It is how to get through the gate on time for a 6am call, what to do when the studio shuttle is not running, and how to move a visiting actor or executive between Heathrow and a sound stage without fuss. - Weekend shoots, bank holidays, very early calls and airport arrivals fall outside the shuttle, which is where a pre-booked car helps.
How do cast and crew usually get to Pinewood?
The studios' own shuttle is the starting point. Pinewood says it operates a free service for staff, studio tenants, production crew and visitors, using 16-seat minibuses, Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays. The buses link the studios with four stations.

Two conditions matter. You need proof of identity or other authorisation to board, and visitors must have a letter or email authorising them to use the shuttle. Check the studio's current shuttle timetable against your call time too, because a bus that suits a 9am office start may not suit a pre-dawn unit call.
When does the shuttle not cover your journey?
Productions do not always keep office hours. The shuttle does not run at weekends or on bank holidays, and it only serves the four stations. A crew member living in Beaconsfield, Amersham or Chalfont St Peter still has to reach one of those stations first. Visitors without an authorisation letter cannot use it at all. And nothing on the timetable helps when a shoot overruns late into the evening.

What is the best road route to Pinewood?
Pinewood gives two approaches. From the M4, leave at Junction 5 and follow the A4 exit towards Colnbrook, Datchet and Langley, then Wood Lane and the signs to the studios. From the A40, leave at Junction 1 at Denham, take the A412 towards Slough for about two miles, go straight over two mini-roundabouts onto Church Road, and take the exit signed Pinewood Studios at the next roundabout.
From Gerrards Cross itself, the studios are about five miles away on local roads, so most of our runs stay on the local roads around Iver Heath rather than joining a motorway. Our drivers know the studio approach and the lanes around it, which counts when a call time is tight.
How do you get from central London by train?
According to Pinewood, Chiltern Railways trains from Marylebone to Gerrards Cross and Great Western services from Paddington to Slough each take around 20–30 minutes, followed by about 10 minutes by taxi to the studios; check National Rail for engineering works before an early call. The Metropolitan line from Baker Street to Uxbridge takes about 45 minutes, again followed by a short taxi ride, and TfL lists any weekend closures on that line. On weekdays the studio shuttle can replace that last leg for anyone authorised to use it; at other times, Gerrards Cross station is the most convenient place for us to meet you.
Can you collect visiting talent or executives from the airport?
Yes. Heathrow is about ten miles from the studio gate, so an arrival can go straight to Pinewood in one booking. Is discretion part of the service?
It is. Our drivers are experienced and professional and are used to carrying cast, crew and visitors who value their privacy. For senior guests, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class is quiet and understated. What else is near the studios?
Pinewood describes itself as home to 30 stages, including the 007 Stage and a permanently filled Underwater Stage, and more than 150 independent creative businesses on the lot. Next door is Black Park, 618 acres of heath and woodland owned by Buckinghamshire Council, with a gate from the studios into the park; it has doubled on screen for everywhere from 19th-century France to upstate New York.
