Who should book the Mercedes-Benz E-Class?
Book the E-Class if you are one to four people who want a quiet, comfortable executive saloon and have no more than a couple of large cases. It is GX Executive's default choice for airport transfers from Gerrards Cross.
The E-Class is a full-size four-door saloon with a 540-litre boot. Inside, the soft leather and quiet cabin make it easy to work, take a call or rest after a long-haul flight. Every trip has a fixed fare agreed before you travel, and child or booster seats can be fitted on request.

Is the E-Class big enough for your group and your bags?
For up to four passengers with normal luggage, yes. The car seats five in total including the driver. The middle rear seat is over the transmission tunnel, so three adults in the back is fine for a short trip but tighter on a longer one. Two passengers in the back have plenty of room.
Luggage usually decides it. The 540-litre boot takes two large suitcases plus hand luggage without any problem, which covers most couples and many small families. If four adults each bring a large case, or you are carrying golf clubs or skis, book an MPV instead: the SEAT Alhambra for up to 6, the V-Class for 7 or the Ford Tourneo for 8. The plug-in hybrid E-Class has a smaller boot (around 370 litres), so if you tell us you have a lot of luggage we will send a car with the full-size boot. Which journeys is the E-Class used for most?

What is the E-Class like to travel in?
It is quiet and smooth. The E-Class is designed for a calm ride, with leather upholstery and dual-zone climate control. Later, higher-spec cars add Mercedes' MBUX infotainment and twin digital displays, so exact equipment depends on the car. For most passengers, what matters is how well it absorbs motorway noise and poor road surfaces over a long trip. The BMW 5 Series is its equivalent in our fleet: the same passenger numbers and a very similar boot, but with a slightly firmer, sportier feel. If you prefer one make, say so when you book. The photographs are representative of the model rather than a specific GX car.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Questions
How many passengers can the Mercedes-Benz E-Class carry?
Up to 4 passengers plus the driver. The rear bench has three seat belts, but the middle seat sits over the transmission tunnel, so three adults in the back is best kept to shorter trips. For five or more, the SEAT Alhambra (6), V-Class (7) or Ford Tourneo (8) is the right choice.
How much luggage fits in the E-Class?
The saloon has a 540-litre boot. As our luggage guide explains, a saloon comfortably takes two large suitcases plus hand luggage, so the E-Class suits a couple or a small family. If four people each have a large case, book an MPV. The plug-in hybrid version of the E-Class has a smaller boot of around 370 litres, so tell us your bag count and we will send an E-Class with the full 540 litres.
Is the E-Class a good choice for a Heathrow transfer?
Yes. The E-Class is our default choice for airport transfers, and Heathrow is 20 to 35 minutes from Gerrards Cross. Two to four passengers with standard holiday luggage fit comfortably. Flight monitoring and meet-and-greet in arrivals come with every airport booking.
What is the difference between the E-Class and the BMW 5 Series?
Very little in practical terms. Both are executive saloons for up to 4 passengers, with boots of 540 litres (E-Class) and 520 litres (5 Series). The E-Class is the softer, quieter ride, while the 5 Series feels a little sportier. If you have a preference, say so when you book; otherwise either one suits the same journeys.
Can I have a child seat in the E-Class?
Yes. Child and booster seats are available on request for any vehicle in the fleet. Tell us the child's age when you book so the right seat is fitted before pick-up. Remember that each child seat takes up one of the four passenger places.
Can I book the E-Class for a wedding or a race day?
Yes. It works well as a going-away car, for guests or for the bride's parents, and for couples going to Royal Ascot or the Epsom Derby. For a larger wedding party, you can add a V-Class so everyone arrives together.
Is the vehicle in the photo the actual car?
No. The photographs on our fleet pages show the model, not a specific GX vehicle. The car you get will be a Mercedes-Benz E-Class, valeted before your journey.
