Ford Tourneo (8-Seater)

The Ford Tourneo Custom is our largest vehicle, an eight-seat MPV built for the times the whole group has to travel together and still bring its bags. It is the passenger version of Ford's Transit Custom, so it carries like a minibus but rides like a car, which is exactly why it is our first call when a full party needs one vehicle rather than a convoy. Up to eight passengers plus the driver, a genuine boot behind the back row and a modern, well-equipped cabin make it a comfortable choice for group airport transfers, executive group travel and weddings, always with a fixed price, flight monitoring on airport runs and a licensed, DBS-checked driver.

  • Passengers: up to 8 plus driver (9-seat layout also available)
  • Luggage: 514–787 litres behind the rear row (standard body), 632–999 litres on the long-wheelbase
  • Type: 8-seat passenger MPV / minibus
  • Best for: group airport transfers, executive travel, families and weddings
  • Fixed prices, no meter and no surge, available 24/7

How many passengers fit in the Ford Tourneo?

The Ford Tourneo Custom seats up to eight passengers plus the driver, and it is also offered as a nine-seater laid out as three rows of three. The base configuration is two front seats plus rows of seating behind, but the cabin is genuinely flexible: the middle-row seats sit on sliding rails and move independently, they can be rotated to face rearward for groups travelling together, and the rear row has a two-seat and one-seat split. In practice a group of five or six travels with room to spare, and a full party of eight still gets proper seating across the rows, no one perched on a bag or squeezed into a saloon. At roughly 5,050 mm long in standard-wheelbase form (about 5,450 mm on the long-wheelbase), 2,032 mm wide and 1,959 mm tall, it offers the head- and shoulder-room a big group actually needs.

How much luggage does it take?

This is where the Tourneo earns its place on airport transfers: unlike most people carriers, it keeps a genuine boot behind the rearmost seats even with every seat occupied. The standard-wheelbase body gives 514 litres with the rear row slid back, rising to 787 litres with the rear row slid forward; the long-wheelbase stretches that to between 632 and 999 litres. In real terms that comfortably takes several large suitcases plus cabin bags for a full group, and there is more room again when the rear seats are slid forward or the long-wheelbase is used, a realistic fit for an eight-person airport run with hold luggage. Fold or remove the rear seats and the cargo volume expands dramatically for oversized or awkward loads. The point that matters is simple: passengers and their cases travel together, in one vehicle, without compromise.

What journeys is the Ford Tourneo best for?

The Tourneo is built for moving people and bags together. Its natural home is the group airport transfer, eight passengers with full holiday or business luggage heading to Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton or Stansted in a single vehicle. It is just as capable on executive and corporate group travel, carrying a team to a meeting or an event with space to spread out and a modern cabin to work or relax in. Families lean on it for the sheer room for people, cases and a pushchair, and its flexible sliding and rotating rear seats plus separate rear climate control make it a comfortable choice for wedding parties and event transport on both short SL9-area hops and longer motorway runs. If your party is smaller, the seven-seat Mercedes-Benz V-Class covers the same ground in chauffeur-grade style.

Why choose the Ford Tourneo?

Because it gives a large group real space and a genuinely modern cabin without asking anyone to travel light. The current model is built around a 13-inch touchscreen running Ford SYNC 4, with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and over-the-air software updates. Air conditioning and a heated windscreen are standard, while higher trims such as Titanium add heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, power-folding heated door mirrors, privacy glass, navigation, rear climate control and 17-inch wheels. On the move, reviewers describe it as as refined and relaxing as a car-based MPV, with excellent ride comfort and good isolation from road and wind noise at motorway speeds, which counts on the longer runs to the airports. If a smaller group needs the same executive finish, a Mercedes-Benz E-Class covers up to four, and you can see the full line-up on our fleet page. When everyone has to travel together, the Tourneo is the one to book.

Ford Tourneo Questions

How many passengers and suitcases can the Ford Tourneo carry?

The Ford Tourneo Custom seats up to 8 passengers plus the driver, with a 9-seat version (three rows of three) also available, and it keeps genuine boot space behind the rearmost seats even with everyone aboard. The standard body offers 514 litres with the rear row slid back, up to 787 litres slid forward, while the long-wheelbase gives 632 up to 999 litres, enough for several large suitcases plus cabin bags on a full 8-person airport run, with far more when rear seats are folded or removed.

Is the Ford Tourneo a good vehicle for group airport transfers?

Yes. With room for up to 8 passengers plus their hold luggage in a single vehicle, it is a natural fit for group transfers to Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Stansted from Gerrards Cross. Reviewers rate it as refined and relaxing as a car-based MPV on the motorway, with good isolation from road and wind noise, and every GX airport run includes real-time flight monitoring and a fixed price agreed before you travel.

What comfort features does the Ford Tourneo have?

The current Tourneo Custom has a modern cabin built around a 13-inch touchscreen running Ford SYNC 4 with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Air conditioning and a heated windscreen are standard, while higher trims such as Titanium add heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, privacy glass, navigation and separate rear climate control. The middle-row seats slide on rails and can rotate to face rearward, making it comfortable for wedding parties and groups on both short SL9 hops and longer runs.
