When should you book the Ford Tourneo?
Book the Tourneo when eight people need to travel together, or when a slightly smaller group has bulky luggage or equipment. It is the largest vehicle GX runs and the only one in the fleet with eight passenger seats, so a group of eight needs one car, not two.
The Ford Tourneo Custom is the passenger version of the Transit Custom. It carries like a minibus but drives more like a large car, and it keeps a real boot behind the back row even when every seat is taken. Fares are fixed, and child seats are available on request.

Why choose one 8-seater over two cars?
Because the group stays together and you have one fare and one driver. With two cars, one often arrives before the other, and you have two bookings to manage. With the Tourneo, everyone leaves together, arrives together and the luggage goes in the same vehicle. The middle-row seats slide on rails and can be turned to face backwards, and the back row is split two and one, so the seating can be arranged for conversation or extra legroom.
It is a large vehicle, about 5.05 metres long in standard form and just under 2 metres tall, which is where the head and shoulder room for a full group comes from. On short local trips, and on the M25 to the airports, it rides more like a car-based MPV than a van.
Will everyone's luggage fit?
For a typical group airport run, yes. The standard body has 514 litres behind the rear row with the seats slid back and 787 litres with them slid forward. The long-wheelbase version offers 632 to 999 litres. In practice that fits several large suitcases plus cabin bags with eight people aboard. For very large loads such as golf bags or ski equipment, tell us when you book so we can check whether some rear seating needs to be folded or removed. Our luggage guide gives some rules of thumb.

Comfort on longer runs
The current Tourneo Custom has a 13-inch touchscreen running Ford SYNC 4, and air conditioning and a heated windscreen are standard. Reviewers describe it as refined at motorway speeds, with good isolation from road and wind noise. Higher trims add features such as rear climate control, so if a particular feature matters, ask when you book. The photograph shows the model, not a specific GX vehicle. Can the Tourneo take us to a night out, a stag or hen do, or a match?

Can the middle seats face each other?
Yes. The middle-row seats slide on rails and can be turned to face backwards, so a group can sit facing each other. The rear row is split two and one. Tell us if you want the seats set up a particular way.
Does the Tourneo have child seats?
Child and booster seats are available on request, as with every vehicle in our fleet. Tell us each child's age when you book; each seat fitted counts towards the eight passenger places.
