Stoke Poges to Heathrow Taxi
Down the B416, through Slough and onto the M4: Stoke Poges to Heathrow in around 25–40 minutes, on a fixed fare with the airport's drop-off charge already paid.
How long does it take to get from Stoke Poges to Heathrow?
Around 25–40 minutes. The village sits just north of Slough, so the Heathrow run goes south to the M4 rather than north to the M40, and the difference between the two ends of that range is mostly Slough's own traffic at the start.
Your fare is agreed at booking and does not move with the traffic. Heathrow's £7 Terminal Drop-off Charge is already in it, so there is no online payment to make after you have gone through security.
We collect from anywhere in SL2, from Stoke Green and Hollybush Hill to Wexham Street, Rogers Lane and the Sefton Park offices on Bells Hill. When you fly home, the driver follows the flight and meets you inside the terminal.

From Stoke Poges to the right Heathrow terminal
Almost every Heathrow run out of Stoke Poges starts the same way: down the B416 through Stoke Green and past Stoke Place into Slough, over the Great Western Main Line by the station and onto the A4. From there the driver either takes the A355 to M4 Junction 6, or stays on the A4 east to Junction 5 at Langley if the town centre is heavy.
Once on the M4
For Terminals 2 and 3, carry on to Junction 4 and take the airport spur through the tunnel. Terminal 5 means leaving at Junction 4b, going south on the M25 to Junction 14 and using the terminal's own road off the A3044. Terminal 4 is also off Junction 14, on the A3113. Tell us the terminal when you book, not on the doorstep: fixing the wrong choice at Heathrow means a long way round the perimeter.
When the M4 is queuing back through Junction 5, the A4 Bath Road runs parallel through Colnbrook and brings the car in along the north side of the airport.
Leaving time for common flights
Because Slough sets the pace at the start, early departures are the easy ones. For a 06:45 short-haul flight a 04:05 pickup puts you at the terminal around two hours ahead; for a 10:00 long-haul departure on a weekday we would collect by 06:15, since the school run and the M4 build together after 7am. Families travelling with small children may want more room still, and our guide to airport taxis with children covers seats and luggage.
The £7 charge and the free alternative
Heathrow charges £7 whenever a vehicle enters a terminal drop-off zone, allows no waiting there, and issues an £80 parking charge if payment is not made by midnight the next day. We include the charge in your fare. If you would rather not use the forecourt, drop-off is free at the Park & Ride car park for your terminal, and a free shuttle bus runs from there to the doors.
Getting there without a car
Stoke Poges has no station of its own. The public transport route is a lift or bus into Slough, then either a local bus or the Elizabeth line. Heathrow lists several buses from Slough to Terminal 5, including routes 7 via Langley and Colnbrook and 5 via Datchet and Poyle, and the A4 bus to the Central Bus Station for Terminals 2 and 3. By train you ride east from Slough to Hayes & Harlington and change for the airport branch. Both work for light travellers; with cases and an early check-in, a car from the door is simpler.
Who we drive to Heathrow from SL2
This is the airport run Stoke Poges households and businesses use week to week. Urenco and Servier Laboratories both work out of the Sefton Park estate on Bells Hill, which produces a steady stream of early departures, and Pinewood Studios is a short hop away at Iver Heath. Frequent flyers and travel bookers can settle everything through monthly account billing, and since the first flights leave before the buses run, we keep cars out at any hour for 4am collections. Gatwick, Luton and the other airports from the village are on our Stoke Poges airport transfers page.

Stoke Poges to Heathrow Taxi Questions
How long is a taxi from Stoke Poges to Heathrow?
Around 25–40 minutes. The driver takes the B416 into Slough, joins the M4 at Junction 6 or Junction 5, then uses Junction 4 for Terminals 2 and 3 or Junction 4b and the M25 for Terminals 4 and 5.
Why do you go through Slough rather than up to the M40?
Stoke Poges is south of the M40 and a few minutes from the M4, which leads straight to Heathrow's central tunnel and to the M25 at Junction 4b. Heading north to the M40 would add miles for no gain.
Is there a bus from Stoke Poges to Heathrow?
Not directly. You would travel into Slough first, where Heathrow lists buses to Terminal 5, such as routes 7 and 5, and the A4 route to Heathrow Central Bus Station for Terminals 2 and 3.
Do I need to pay Heathrow's drop-off charge myself?
No. The £7 Terminal Drop-off Charge is included in your Stoke Poges fare. Alternatively, we can drop you free at your terminal's Park & Ride car park, with a free shuttle bus to the terminal.
What time should I be collected in Stoke Poges for a 10am long-haul flight?
On a weekday we would suggest a 06:15 pickup, which allows for the morning build-up in Slough and on the M4 and gets you to the terminal about three hours before departure.
Do you take staff from Sefton Park to Heathrow?
Yes. We handle departures and visitor collections for businesses on Bells Hill and across the village, paid per journey or on a monthly account.
Can I book the return from Heathrow to Stoke Poges at the same time?
Yes. Give us the inbound flight number and we track it, meet you in arrivals and drive you home at the agreed fixed price, with free waiting time on international flights.
