Denham to London City Airport Taxi
The shortest London City run we quote from the Chilterns side: 65–90 minutes from UB9 to the Royal Docks, fixed price, flight tracked.
Why is Denham one of the quicker runs to London City?
Denham sits right where the M40 ends and the A40 begins, so a car to London City Airport is on the main road east within minutes. That is why we quote 65–90 minutes from here, shorter than from villages further up the A413.
You get one price, agreed first, for the whole trip to the terminal. On the return the driver follows your flight, which is useful when a late evening arrival from Frankfurt or Amsterdam slips.
We collect across Denham Village, Denham Green and Higher Denham, and from employers around Broadwater Park. For regular business travel, Denham corporate accounts keep bookings and invoices in one place.

London City from Denham is a city drive, not a motorway one
Of the five airports we serve from the village, London City is the one that barely touches a motorway. The A40 begins at the Denham Roundabout, Junction 1 of the M40, and heads east as Western Avenue straight into west London, which is why this trip is described by the A40 and then the A13 rather than by junction numbers. The airport itself sits in the Royal Docks, roughly five miles east of the City, and the final approach is signposted from the A13 instead of from any motorway exit. The alternative is to go around rather than through: the A406 North Circular links to the A1020 and lands on the same Royal Docks roads, which is frequently the better call when the A40 is solid inside the North Circular. There is a third option that only a local driver thinks of, the A4020 through Uxbridge and Ealing, the road the A40 used before Western Avenue was built. Two further things shape the timing. The airport lies inside the London-wide ULEZ, so the vehicle has to be compliant, and its forecourt allows a maximum stay of ten minutes, which means the car pulls in, unloads and leaves.
Nearly everyone who books this one is travelling for work. London City runs short European business flights, and the passengers using it from Denham are largely the same commuters who would otherwise be on the Chiltern line from Denham or Denham Golf Club into Marylebone. A train to Marylebone and then a cross-town leg with a case is a poor trade against being driven from the door. Directors based at Broadwater Business Park, visitors staying over at Denham Grove between meetings, and consultants living around Village Road and Denham Green make up the bulk of it, and the bookings gather around the first departures of the morning and the last arrivals back at night. Since the cost usually falls on an employer rather than the passenger, most regulars settle it through monthly account billing with one invoice and named travellers. If you need something beyond the standard saloon, extra seats, a bigger boot or a car smart enough for a client pickup, the vehicles we run are listed in full.
What catches people out on the Denham to London City run?
The ten-minute forecourt
London City's drop-off area allows a maximum stay of ten minutes, and the airport issues a £100 enforcement charge to vehicles that overstay, reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days. That is why a Denham pickup on the way home is always a meet inside the terminal rather than a quick stop at the kerb.
Hanger Lane
Heading east on the A40, the Hanger Lane Gyratory is where the North Circular crosses. It is the point where the driver decides whether to carry on through town or swing round the A406, which runs all the way to Beckton and meets the A13 close to the Royal Docks.
The rail option
Denham and Denham Golf Club stations both have Chiltern trains to Marylebone, but reaching the airport from there means the Bakerloo line, the Jubilee line and the DLR. For a work trip with luggage, a Denham executive car removes all three changes. Our piece on corporate taxi accounts explains how firms manage regular runs like this.

Denham to London City Taxi Questions
How long is a taxi from Denham to London City Airport?
Allow 65–90 minutes. The A40 starts at the Denham Roundabout and runs east into London, and the airport is reached from the A13 in the Royal Docks.
Why do you quote a range rather than one time?
Because nearly all of this route is on London roads, where traffic changes by the hour. We place your collection time within the range according to when you fly.
What is the maximum stay at the London City drop-off?
Ten minutes. The airport charges £8 for up to five minutes and £1 a minute after that, and overstaying brings an enforcement charge.
Do you work with companies on Broadwater Park?
Yes. We collect from business addresses in Denham and can run the journeys through a monthly corporate account with one invoice.
Which Denham addresses do you cover for London City?
All of UB9, including Denham Village, Denham Green and Higher Denham, plus nearby Gerrards Cross and Iver Heath.
Can you pick me up from London City late in the evening?
Yes. We run 24 hours a day, track your flight and wait inside the terminal, with free waiting time on international arrivals.
Is the fare the same in both directions?
Each leg is quoted as a fixed price before you book, and you can book the outbound and return together.
