For most airports the car joins the M40 at Junction 1, the Denham roundabout where the A40, A412 and M40 meet, and takes the M25 at Junction 16 almost immediately. For Luton and Stansted there is a second option: north on the A412 to the M25 at Junction 17, Maple Cross.
Denham to Heathrow: 15–25 minutes

With Heathrow so close, a lift from a friend can be tempting, but it is worth knowing Heathrow now charges £7 for each entry to a terminal drop-off zone. Taxis and private hire vehicles pay it too, and unpaid charges become an £80 parking charge after midnight the following day.
Denham to Luton: 45–65 minutes
A412 north to M25 Junction 17, or M40 to Junction 16, then clockwise to Junction 21 and up the M1 to Junction 10. At Luton, the Drop Off Zone costs £9 for up to 12 minutes and £1 a minute after that. Book Denham to Luton.
Denham to Gatwick (55–80 minutes) and Stansted (85–110 minutes)
Gatwick is the M25 anticlockwise from Junction 16, past Heathrow to Junction 7, then the M23 to Junction 9; its drop-off zones charge £10 for 10 minutes. Can I get to Heathrow from Denham by train or Tube?
Yes, but it is slower than the 15–25 minute drive. Denham has two Chiltern Railways stations, Denham and the smaller Denham Golf Club, both on the line to London Marylebone, and Uxbridge Underground station is a couple of miles away. The rail options are:
- From Denham station: Chiltern to Marylebone, Bakerloo line to Paddington, then the Elizabeth line or Heathrow Express back out west
- From Uxbridge: Piccadilly line towards central London, changing at Acton Town for a Heathrow train
- For Gatwick, Luton or Stansted: into central London first, then Thameslink or the Stansted Express
Rail makes the most sense for a Stansted or Gatwick trip in the daytime with light luggage. For Heathrow, going into London only to come back out again rarely works, and for late arrivals, when the last Chiltern train into Denham has gone, a pre-booked car waiting at arrivals is the easier finish.
