Which schools do Denham children go to?
Most Denham families start with one of two state primaries. Denham Village School on Cheapside Lane serves the old village and takes children from 4 to 11; its playground opens at 8.45am and the school day starts at 8.55am, with children staying with their parent or carer until the bell. Which roads slow the Denham school run?
The Denham Roundabout is the big one. It is where the M40 starts at Junction 1, and it also links the A40, the A4020 towards Uxbridge and the A412 North Orbital Road towards Slough and Rickmansworth. At 8am that makes it the pinch point for almost every Denham journey heading south or east. Inside the village the problem is space.
