No, and this catches visitors out. Amersham-on-the-Hill (HP6) grew up in the early 20th century around the station, and holds the shops and many of the commuter streets. Old Amersham (HP7) is the historic market town in the valley of the River Misbourne, about a mile below, with its broad High Street, the Market Hall and coaching inns including The Crown, one of whose suites appeared in Four Weddings and a Funeral. With cases, the walk down is awkward and the walk back up is harder. A taxi from the station takes a few minutes.
