From Gerrards Cross and South Bucks (SL9) the faster, more direct route heads south to the M25, round to the M26, then onto the M20 south-east towards the coast. The M20 becomes the A20 at Folkestone and runs on to the Eastern Docks roundabout, where the ferry terminal is signposted, from the A20 you take the first left into the Dover Ferry Terminal. For the cruise terminals you branch towards the Western Docks instead.
There is also a northern alternative: the M2, which merges into the A2 at Faversham and reaches the same Eastern Docks roundabout (taking a right for the terminal). There's also an off-site option, Dover Port Parking Ltd on South Military Road (CT17 9UE), where you leave the car and keys and take an included shuttle bus to the terminal.
