The long way round the top of the M25
Stansted is the furthest of the five from Iver, and the route commits you to the northern half of the M25 for a long stretch, so the state of the motorway matters more than the road you take out of the village. We start northwards: the A412 through Iver Heath to the Denham roundabout, junction 1 of the M40, then junction 1A onto the M25 at junction 16. After that it is clockwise the whole way, past Maple Cross at junction 17, the Watford junctions, junction 21 where the M1 comes in, and on to junction 27 and the M11.
The airport's own guidance is to use junction 8a when you approach from the London direction, which is what a car from Iver is doing, and junction 8 only from the Cambridge side. Junction 8 still works: it comes first as you head north, at Birchanger, and connects to the A120, so it is the obvious swap if the 8a slip road is closed. The proper bail-out is bigger. The A414 runs east across Hertfordshire from Hemel Hempstead through St Albans, Hatfield and Hertford to Harlow and rejoins the M11 at junction 7. That is the way round when the north-east corner of the M25 has stopped moving.
Stansted keeps the other end simple: one terminal building and one forecourt, with the gates reached from satellite buildings by walkway or transit, so there is no terminal to get wrong the way there is at Heathrow. Most of what we carry from Iver on this route is leisure travel, short European trips, and groups travelling together are common.

Iver station, the Elizabeth line and the Stansted Express
Iver is one of the few villages we serve with a genuine rail option. The Elizabeth line from Iver runs through central London to Liverpool Street without a change, and the Stansted Express leaves Liverpool Street every 15 minutes during the day for a journey of about 48 minutes. With light bags and a daytime flight it is a reasonable choice. With a family, a 6am departure or a pile of suitcases, two trains and a platform change with suitcases usually lose out to 90–115 minutes in a car from the front door.
Drop-off charges and arriving on time at Stansted
Stansted's Express Set Down, directly outside the terminal, has charged £10 for up to 15 minutes and £28 for longer since 19 March 2026, with payment due by midnight the next day. The Mid Stay car park offers the free alternative: an hour at no cost and a 24-hour shuttle bus to the terminal. The airport recommends being at security two hours before departure. Iver passengers booking regularly can use an Iver corporate account, the 24-hour service in Iver covers the very early starts, and Iver airport transfers lists every airport. If the journey carries on past the airport, we quote longer cross-country runs on exactly the same fixed basis.

Do you collect from Richings Park and Iver Heath?
Yes. We cover all of SL0, including Iver village, Iver Heath and Richings Park.
Why do you ask for my flight number?
So we can set the collection time from the real departure and follow any change, and so the driver on your return tracks the actual landing time.
How much does Stansted charge to drop off at the terminal?
£10 for up to 15 minutes in the Express Set Down, rising to £28 for a longer stay (from 19 March 2026). Mid Stay car park drop-off is free for up to an hour.
