Seer Green to Luton Taxi
Pre-booked cars from Seer Green and Jordans to London Luton Airport, around 50–65 minutes, at a fare agreed before you travel.
Seer Green to Luton Airport by pre-booked car
The journey takes about 50–65 minutes. The car runs through Beaconsfield to the M40, joins the M25 clockwise and then heads north on the M1 to the airport. The fare is fixed before you book.
Seer Green is small, about 1.8 miles from Old Beaconsfield and the same distance from Chalfont St Giles. It has its own station, but trains from there run into London Marylebone, not north. For a Luton flight, a car from the door avoids crossing London with your luggage.
We collect from the village centre, Orchard Road and Chalfont Road, Seer Green & Jordans station next to Beaconsfield Golf Club, and the Quaker village of Jordans. Everyday journeys are covered by our Seer Green taxis.

From the cherry-orchard village to the M1: how the Luton run works
Most mornings we take the lanes into Beaconsfield and pick up the A355 down to junction 2 of the M40. From there it is a short run east to junction 1A and onto the M25 at junction 16, then clockwise past Maple Cross (junction 17), the A404 at junction 18 and the A41 at junction 20. At junction 21 we join the M1 heading north. Junction 10 has a slip road onto the airport spur, and the A1081 New Airport Way takes us the rest of the way. At the roundabout before the tunnel the airport asks drivers to ignore the sat-nav and follow the signs to the drop-off area, which our drivers do.
Because Seer Green sits between Beaconsfield and Chalfont St Giles, there is a second route when the M40 or junction 16 is blocked. We take the lanes to Chalfont St Giles and the A413 north towards Amersham, then the A404 east to M25 junction 18, joining the motorway further round towards the M1. If the M1 itself is closed near St Albans, junction 8 and the A414, or the A1081 through Harpenden, both reach the airport. The driver chooses between these routes after checking traffic before collection.
The village was once known for its cherry orchards, which the school still celebrates with its annual Cherry Pie Fair. Holy Trinity Church dates from 1846, and the station was first named Beaconsfield Golf Club after the course next to it. Seer Green is a quiet place, with no night buses or taxi rank, so an early Luton departure depends on a car booked in advance. Bookings from Seer Green often come with golf clubs or ski bags, so tell us about bulky luggage and we will send the SEAT Alhambra, the Mercedes V-Class or the eight-seat Ford Tourneo.
Can I get the train from Seer Green to Luton Airport?
Only by going through central London. Seer Green & Jordans is on the Chiltern Main Line, with trains to London Marylebone. Marylebone has no direct rail link to St Pancras, so you would cross London by Underground or taxi, catch an East Midlands Railway or Thameslink train to Luton Airport Parkway, and take the Luton DART to the terminal. The DART runs day and night, but the rest of the journey is long with luggage.
If a friend is driving you, remember that the terminal Drop Off and Pick Up Zone charges £9 for the first 12 minutes and £1 a minute after that, up to 30 minutes. The free alternative is the Long Stay Car Park, which has two hours free and a shuttle bus every 20 minutes. Both need planning, which a booked car with the charge included in the fare avoids.
Luton's arrival advice is to follow your airline, usually two to three hours before departure. With a 50–65 minute drive, a 7am flight means a car at the door at about 3.55am. Our guide to how much luggage fits in an airport taxi can help you choose the right vehicle, and Seer Green airport transfers covers every other airport.
