Seer Green to Gatwick Taxi
A small village with an hourly off-peak train, and an airport on the far side of London. Door to terminal from Seer Green or Jordans takes around 80–95 minutes, at a price agreed before you book.
How long does it take to get from Seer Green to Gatwick?
Around 80–95 minutes by car. Your driver takes the short run through the lanes into Beaconsfield, joins the M40 at Junction 2, crosses to the M25 at Junction 16 and follows it anticlockwise to the M23, which leads to the airport spur.
The price is settled at booking and already includes the charge Gatwick makes for dropping off at the terminal. However the M25 behaves on the day, the figure does not change.
We collect from the lanes around Holy Trinity Church and Orchard Road, from Seer Green and Jordans station and Beaconsfield Golf Club beside it, and from Jordans village next door, home to the Quaker meeting house where William Penn is buried.

Beaconsfield or Denham: two ways from Seer Green to the M25
Seer Green lies between Beaconsfield and Chalfont St Giles, and both give a route to Gatwick. The usual one goes through the lanes into Beaconsfield and onto the M40 at Junction 2, east to Junction 1A and the M25 at Junction 16. From there the car follows the orbital anticlockwise past the M4, Heathrow and the M3, turning off at Junction 7 for the M23 and then at Junction 9 for the airport spur, which ends at a roundabout by the South Terminal. For the North Terminal the car continues along Airport Way. If traffic is building around Beaconsfield, the other way out is across through Jordans to the A413 at Chalfont St Giles, down through Chalfont St Peter to Denham and onto the M40 at Junction 1, meeting the same M25 interchange. When the M23 is shut, the A23 London to Brighton road runs alongside it to Gatwick.
Can you get the train from Seer Green to Gatwick?
Seer Green and Jordans station is on the Chiltern Main Line, with typically one train an hour each way off-peak between Marylebone and High Wycombe. From Marylebone you would cross London to Victoria for the Gatwick Express, which runs non-stop in about 30 minutes, or to a Thameslink station for a direct train. That is at least two changes with luggage, and for a flight that leaves before the first trains of the day it is no option at all. With no taxi rank in the village either, the car needs booking in advance.
Timing an early flight from HP9
For a 6.50am short-haul flight, plan to reach the terminal around 4.50am. With up to 95 minutes on the road and a buffer for overnight motorway works, the car should leave Seer Green at about 3am. A 3am collection is treated like any other: the booking is confirmed ahead, the driver arrives a few minutes early, and you can sleep on the M40. If there are more than four of you, or a lot of kit, a SEAT Alhambra or Mercedes-Benz V-Class gives the room.
Gatwick's forecourt charge
Anyone driving onto either terminal drop-off zone pays Gatwick £10 for up to 10 minutes and £1 a minute after that, up to a 30-minute limit, settled online by midnight the following day. The Long Stay car parks offer free drop-off for two hours with a shuttle bus to the terminals. On our transfers the forecourt charge is simply inside the fare, and if you need to switch terminals, the free shuttle between North and South takes about two minutes.
Heathrow is a much shorter run from the village; see Seer Green to Heathrow, or compare every airport on Seer Green airport transfers. Local journeys are covered by our Seer Green taxi service, and first-time flyers may find our beginner's airport guide useful. Trips beyond the airports come under long-distance travel.
