Why is Wattleton Road the hardest drop-off in Beaconsfield?
Because three schools share it. Beaconsfield High School (girls' grammar, ages 11 to 18), The Beaconsfield School (mixed, 11 to 18) and Butlers Court School (primary, 4 to 11) all have their addresses on Wattleton Road, so primary families, upper-school pupils and grammar-school traffic arrive in the same short window. The published timings differ: Butlers Court lets children on site from 8.35am and finishes at 3.15pm, while Beaconsfield High's day runs from 8.50am to 3.30pm. Butlers Court also hands children over at either its Wattleton Road or Grove Road gate, which is worth agreeing with your driver in advance.
Elsewhere the pinch points are smaller but real. Holtspur School asks children to arrive from 8.40am through the rear gate on Beacon Close, with that gate closing at 8.55am. Davenies on Station Road says parking is limited and asks visitors to arrange it beforehand, so a car that sets down and leaves avoids the parking question altogether. Alfriston School on Penn Road in Knotty Green starts at 9am and finishes at 3.30pm.

How does the 11+ affect a Beaconsfield school run?
Buckinghamshire still selects at 11. The Secondary Transfer Test is run by The Buckinghamshire Grammar Schools and sat early in the autumn term of Year 6; children at a state-funded Bucks primary are entered automatically unless their parents withdraw them, and a score of 121 or above qualifies a child for a county grammar. For September 2027 entry, results come out on 9 October 2026 and secondary applications close on 31 October 2026.
Qualifying is not the same as getting a place. Grammar schools usually rank qualified applicants by criteria that include siblings, catchment and distance, and Beaconsfield High publishes its catchment map on its admissions page.
